Arachne: Missing tooth #10710

Open Ret-Marut opened 1 year ago

Ret-Marut commented 1 year ago

Description of the bug

When printing a very small gear wheel, on the sprocket part one tooth is missing. Changing printing parameters didn't help. Except: When changing to 'classic'-slicing, or scaling up, everything's fine. Also on Ultimaker this prints without problems. Problem is present and exists at least since 2.5.0 and seems related to the implemented Arachne algorithm.

Change the arachne slicing settings. You do realise that the defaults don't work for everything ? You are expected to adjust them where needed.

For example a single change to the Perimeter transitioning threshold angle image

Hi,

thanks, I was puzzled because I tried some setting changes without success, and printing with Cura worked with the default settings right away.

Following your hints, I found the threshold setting now under ‚extended‘ settings, which was not really obvious in the first place. May I suggest you put the settings which refer to the selected perimeter generator directly next to the selector popup? That would ease things for you, too ;-)

Anyway, apart from that, Slicer is of course much more versatile than Cura!

Regards, Bernd
