Multibody tops and bottoms not recognized #13165

Open sundewzer opened 3 months ago

sundewzer commented 3 months ago

Description of the bug

Where multibodies meet it doesn't treat the the top of the object as a top or the bottom of the other one as a bottom. That is to say the top and bottom of the bodies have infill in the center. Also where they meet it won't iron. Basically I am printing TPE on modeled PLA supports and I want to iron the PLA. So the bottom of the part doesn't have the solid layers I need.

Here's how you can do it right now. I would expect the inner wall there to move around - maybe expand the first couple of layers of the core of the next phase of support. workaround github.zip image We do need to be able to treat some parts as bespoke support. Getting a dev interested generally needs a demonstration of value. I would expect this to be a known interesting possibility. Next step is to look for what's been said about it before, and identify what might be missing from the motivation derivable from that.
