[Not an issue - just FYI] Linode no longer likes axiom :'( (UPDATE: DECISION REVERTED) #682

Just as FYI so everyone is aware. Received this note from Linode Support. They probably sent me this because in the past I have requested them to increase the image sizes for axiom to work fine.

Hello,

Upon careful consideration, the use of Axiom will no longer be permissible on our platform.

We’re making this change in the interest of reducing activity that could potentially cause reputational harm and issues for other Linode customers and/or our infrastructure. This change is a result of a variety of factors, including other customers who have used Axiom on our platform. Our decision is based on the overall potential impact, and is not specifically due to the actions of a single customer. This adjustment to our policy is effective immediately for all Linode customers.

Activity such as bug bounty hunting or penetration testing is still permitted on our platform, as long as all activity is legal, does not violate our Terms of Service, and falls within the allowed scope of the target's bounty program or prior agreement between you and the target.

If you have questions for us please let us know, otherwise this ticket will close automatically in 96 hours.

They reverted the decision!! See below:

Hi there,

This ticket has been opened as our records indicate you may have previously deployed Axiom on our platform. After careful consideration we are once again permitting the use of this tool, though we strongly encourage review of our updated Community Site post before doing so.

Please be mindful that distributed scanning tools such as Axiom have the potential to generate abuse reports if used improperly. Reports of this nature may result in the suspension of services or immediate account cancellation.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, otherwise this ticket will be set to close automatically in 96 hours. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
