Suggestion: show git hash in addition to the version number #31

In Settings > About

show version number "1.3.12" and
show git hash "9faab34fbd5353100d73be43690e3b8ee3f2f389" in addition.

I agree that it would be good if we wouldn't have Google Play distribution. But in perfect world bugs should only refers to version number given in application. Power users are cleaver enough to provide sha sum when submitting bugs ;)

Let me know, how to find the git hash on the smartphone, please !

So you have hash there.

But where can I find it on the device ? Currently, only the version number is shown. Filed as issue #36

I reconsidered my request and came to the conclusion, that this is not possible due to the way git works. You cannot embed the hash(x) in the same version x, because this would result in a different hash(x + hash(x)).

Closing the issue as WONTFIX
