Describe the issue

When trying to play LEGO Racers 2 (PAL) from internal HDD, I noticed some audio glitching in-game. Most noticeably, the engine sound is very broken but there are also small audio glitches when navigating menus. I have not tested SMB or USB on this version of OPL.

I have checked my rip and it matches the sha1 on redump. My retail disc also boots and plays absolutely fine on my PS2. I have not tried a home-made disc. From the googling I've done, this seems to unfortunately be a known problematic game.

@AKuHAK, @mr-falafel

OPL Beta 1.2.0 2048 SMB PAL ISO - works well, but there is strange sound during the race OPL Beta 1.2.0 2048 USB PAL ISO - everything works well

mr-falafel commented 1 year ago

That mirrors my experience, except I've also had issues booting the game under SMB on 2035. I'll try upgrading to 2048 today and see if it makes a difference. @10522 Did you apply any modes in your testing?

10522 commented 1 year ago

@mr-falafel, i always write when i use compatibility modes. Also don't use OPL Beta 1.2.0 2035 because it has broken ZSO files.

@10522 Good to know, thank you!

Finally got around to upgrading OPL to v1.2.0-Beta-2049-513e9b3. I also switched back to an internal HDD instead of SMB in order to avoid a compatibility issue with Gran Turismo 3. LEGO Racers 2 boots consistently now but still has the audio glitches.

I have updated the title and initial post to reflect what I've tested and experienced on the current beta.
