Describe the issue

Black screen on startup (ISO & ZSO). Compatibility modes do not help. I use redump images and don't use PADEMU, VMC, GSM.

This is a problematic game, AFAIK it was only playable on a close source box by turning on mode9, hopefully OPL can handled it in the future

@AKuHAK, @rickgaiser, @TnA-Plastic, what does Mode 9 do? I found only this information:

It will not use any EE side memory in game. Technical information can be found at AG forum. Some user report with mode 9: 1) Jak II: Renegade works well, no 93% bug. 2) Fallout brotherhood of steel works well. 3) Devil May Cry 1 works well. This mode can support some game that never run with OPL/hdlloader.

I couldn't find any technical information about Mode 9 on the assemblergames forum via the Wayback Machine, but I did find some versions of OPL that were used in PS2NETBOX. Perhaps using reverse engineering it will be possible to understand what Mode 9 does and whether it can fix this game.
