Using a fat ps2 with internal 2tb he and fmcb 1966

I believe this one line is the only line you added. Please remove the other template stuff from the PR description if you're not using it.

Also:

  • What OPL version(s) did you use? I would recommend you at least test this on v1.0.0

  • What game serial? There's multiple versions of GT4

  • What compatibility modes did you try? http://sx.sytes.net/oplcl/games.aspx shows you need mode 6. Check what folder you're using for configs: it must be 'CFG', no longer 'CFG-DEV'. Copy the content of 'CFG-DEV' to 'CFG'.

I've added the requested information. There is only a CFG folder in my Opl on my internal Hdd so I guess that works.

If you cannot start this game with practically any OPL version even with mode 6 especially from HDD, then there is something wrong but not with OPL... I will start by checking your ISO md5sum. You can compare md5sum with the one from redump: http://redump.org/disc/359/.

I've checked the md5sum and it matches with the websites one. Dma mode is 4 like it is normally set. I can't figure out why it won't start..

The main problem is that it is not OPL's issue, because this game at least has worked on OPL 0.9.3. You have a 2TB HDD... which could mean that you additionally have a 3rd party NA (e.g. GameStar). You probably installed this game with WinHIIP 1.7.6...

I have a Seagate Constellation ES ST2000NM0011 2TB 64MB and yes a NA Gamestar. I have installed the games with Ps2 Handiness

What would you recommend to use? I have now ordered a Original NA and a Upgrade Sata Kit. I think it doesn't matter what brand the sata ä upgrade kit is from, right? And what Program should I use to install the games? Hdl dump helper GUI won't show my hdd, only hdl dumb or ps2 handiness.

Can you please check this game through a USB device?

You will have to use USBUtil, because this game is bigger than 4 GiB. E.g. flash-drive should have FAT32 file system (MBR).

If the game will not boot... your flash-drive can be not fully compatilble. Try another one. Additionally enable debug colors in OPL's settings.

BTW have you got OPL (ELF) on a memory car, HDD...

From I remember the best compatibility SATA adapters for a genuine NA are from maxdiypower, as for others... I do not know.

Dont use winhiip. Oftically recommended programs: hdldump/hdldumb or hdlgameinstaller.

As for compatibility, I dont think that this really matter. You can use any ide to sata.

I have tried it now via usb and it works. Could really be the NA Adapter. I have the Opl elf file on my memory card.

Could you try to install this game into HDD with an other app (e.g. by the one that has been mentioned by AKuHAK)? HDLGameInstaller will not work with this game with your NA:

[ * ] - DVD9 games are supported from the PC client only, as the CDVDMAN module within the boot ROMs of all consoles does not support DVD9 layer 1.

HDLGameInstaller will not work with this game with your NA:

  • Your GameStar NA does not have a working ETH port

  • DVD9 games are not supported in **PS2 client***, so you will not be able to rip this game on the PS2 console.

[ * ] - DVD9 games are supported from the PC client only, as the CDVDMAN module within the boot ROMs of all consoles does not support DVD9 layer 1.

I've now send the adapter back and am waiting for the original one and the data upgrade kit to come. I will keep you up to date how it will look like with original NA

VapidRush commented 3 years ago

I received today my original Sony NA but the one with only one Ethernet connection and Upgraded it to SATA. The Adapter works but Gran Turismo 4 still shows me a Black screen. I have tried god of war because it is also a dvd9 game and it works without a problem. Tried gt4 with latest opl 1.0 and latest opl beta also ifcaro version.

I dont really know what I could try more

J013k commented 3 years ago

Did you try to re-install GT4?

Or even use different game installer? Now that you have NA with a working ETH port, you can install this game with HDLGameInstaller: https://sites.google.com/view/ysai187/home/projects/hdlgameinstaller. Also try to read a few warnings: https://www.psx-place.com/resources/hdlgameinstaller.709/.

VapidRush commented 3 years ago

I have some good news. I had the games installed with Ps2handiness and used the Gamestar adapter before. Also tried to install the games with other programs but nothing worked with my 2tb hdd and the gamestar na.

Now like I said I got the original adapter but it still doesn't work with ps2handiness. I have installed the game on my 250gb hdd formatted with winhiip and installed only the Game gt4 and with winhiip. It worked in the latest stable opl 1.0 with mode 6 an udma4. So I tried the hed with ps2handiness again and it doesn't worked. I tried Hdlbatcher with my 250gb hdd and again it passed the blackscreen.

I will install all games on my 1tb and 2tb fresh formatted hdd with hdlbatcher and will give you a update. But so far it looked good with the 250gb hdd.

VapidRush commented 3 years ago

Got my 2tb hdd working. Games are working with original Networkadapter and upgrade to ide, hdl_batch and for some games hdl_dumb. Opl I used is the latest stable version 1.0.

Case can be closed
