Xenosaga Episode 1 will black screen on the second intro cut scene\FMV using v1.0.0, v1.1.0, and OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-1867-4e032f7, via SMB. Start a new game, you can skip the first video if you want to speed up the testing, let the second video play, it's about 4 ½ minutes, it will black screen every time but does not black screen on v0.9.3 via SMB. You can skip the cut scene to bypass the black screen. I have no idea if other cut scenes are affected as I was just testing SMB. I used a Windows 7 and Windows 10 laptop (I've tested multiple laptops and my desktop PC), have my share set up, IP settings configured on the PC, IP settings configured in OPL, and connect a normal 3 feet patch cable to the PS2 directly from the PC. The issue does not occur on any of the releases using an internal hard drive and fat models as I have played through the game multiple times over the years.
I have tested all the below OPL revisions, a few different patch cables, all the below PS2 models, multiple PCs, using Mode 1 Accurate Reads, using Mode 2 Synchronous Reads, using Ethernet Link Mode Auto, using 100Mbit Full-duplex, and using 100Mbit Half-duplex. I have tested all the listed models using Free MCBoot [Version 1.966] FMCB, Free MCBoot [Version 1.966] FHDB, FunTuna-FreeMcBoot-for-Fortuna_2020-08-30-(2).
