I am running the beta by loading fmcb -> ulaunchelf -> ulaunchelf browser -> mass storage (32gb fat32 usb) -> beta elf.
I have formatted 2 drives as exfat and copied isos that I know work into dvd/cd folders as required.
The 2 drives are:
Western Digital WD10EADS 1TB 3.5" 5400 RPM Sata
HGST P9GR4M2X 3TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Sata
I know the sata adapter works at a base level because I'm still able to use my PFS formatted SSD drive to play my games under OPL in FMCB.
The issue is that I cannot see my games on the exfat drives with OPL beta. The drive icon is lit up and I can navigate to it but there's no games showing up. I've used the same dvd/cd folders I've used to feed my pfs drive so the isos and folders should be fine. I've also enabled hdd and bdm in opl settings as auto. I am able to play games off my usb stick in OPL beta.
Drives are using GPT partitioning and formatted 512k sectors.
The only thing I can think of is that the sata adapter is not driving 3.5" drives but in that case I wouldn't expect to be able to navigate to hdd in OPL..
