"Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for status.mydomain.tld. The certificate is only valid for *.status.cron-job.org."

Is that how this is supposed to work?

No - it should auto-issue a correct certificate for your domain. Can you send me the affected domain to info@cron-job.org so I can check what's going wrong here?
