RCaller does not compile/tests don't pass on a mac #25

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. clone the project (this was changeset d72aea97e81a for me) on a non windows 
system
2. cd into RCaller
3. run mvn clean test 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should have executed the build, and run the tests.  

Instead, there was a compile error, and once that was fixed, there were test 
errors.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
revision d72aea97e81a on Mac, using maven 3

Please provide any additional information below.
Since I already fixed the issues, the fixes are attached as a patch file.  Feel 
free to import them.
