a new user currently faces a daunting learning curve to configure MCM for a typical
usage scenario....

to encourage new users, I suggest making a basic setup dialogue .

I know several htpc guys and we all came to MCM looking to do this:

- given a download folder, process any files and folders
- delete anything other than the media file and subtitle
- based on the downloaded file name attempt to download matching subtitle if needed
- rename in the most common convention:
movie (year)\movie (year).mp4
TVshow\Season x\TVshow - SxxExx - Episode name.mp4
- download available metadata
- move to TV and Movie folders

I don't remember how I got there, but it took a number of changes to do so, and even
though I'm a very experienced IT guy, I didn't have a lot of time to study docs and
the program, so it took quite a while to get MCM to do what I wanted it to do.

Since I bought it a couple of years ago... pre installation settings may have changed
to enable what I'm talking about, or maybe not... in any event... a simple setup dialouge
that offered:

download folder:
destination TV folder:
destination movie folder:
system: Media Browser, Boxee, XBMC, TIVO, Popcorn Hour, etc....
go!

I know technical guys cringe at this stuff, I do... but if I didn't generate time to
fully enable MCM over a year, imagine what a basic user who wants to set up is thinking
and how that plays into their decision to buy.....

another way to go about this would be to add a new first tab to settings called "behaviour"
or the like to change major settings of interest in one place, on that tab would be
a lay description of MCM is currently configured to do along with radio buttons / pulldowns
/ browse boxes:

as currently configured MCM will:
- approximately every xx minutes
- get downloads from:XXXXX
- will / will not delete unnecessary files
- will/will not attempt to download subtitles
- will / will not attempt to download trailers
- rename movies ala: Movie name (year)
- rename TV shows ala: TVshow\Season x\TVshow - SxxEyy - Episode name
- download and configure metadata for: boxee/WMC/XBMC etc
- move tv shows to: xxxxxxxxxxxx
- move movies to : xxxxxxxxxxxxx

as it currently exists it takes a buncha clicks and program knowledge for a user to
ascertain those items of interest in MCM.
