I hate the patch, but the original port is build on top of the result of the buildconf script. I was not able to make this script generate something which can be build for the PSP, so I included the resulting build scripts in the patch. It's a shame, but the original author seems to also have had issues with it.
I do not really wish to support this, but I think it can be nice for some people to have. It's not super useful, especially with the SSL and WIFI security issues the PSP has, but a port of libcurl is requested regularly.
