- Max height in the FLU: Yes, this is inconsistently filled out in the FLU (some in stories, some in feet, some not at all). But for the zones where it is filled out, this was a key input for determining FAR, and generally represents the highest possible construction height (regardless of use). I’d caution against using a blanket rule of a certain number of feet per 1 FAR because heights were used to determine FAR, and not the other way around. This is probably best applied for records with nothing else to go on (assuming we’re not going to research anymore). It’d probably be more accurate to translate the max height field, despite its wonky formatting, but I don’t know the level of precision you’re aiming for.
- MU residential development: Max FAR values in mixed use zones should represent the ultimate max FAR that can be constructed, including residential, so the FAR/height should accommodate.
- SF + Low density MF residential: here’s where I think we could probably just do a blanket assumption for height, even just basing it off a random sampling of city zoning codes.
