A graduate student in Education Policy Studies is analyzing school composition data for multiple metropolitan areas in the United States. They want to create demographic maps and maps of school composition by census tracts to visually examine relationships.

User is new to working with geospatial data formats, but sees that others in their field are starting to use maps to communicate patterns and relationships.
