How do I update the PA road network in the linework of an existing Adobe Illustrator created map? #96

Support staff in the Dean's office of the college of Ag ordered a map of PA online for his new Dean as a way to help orient this new foreign national to the state and do things like show where are the ag extension district boundaries and how to drive between them. The problem is that the map came with an outdated transportation network.

When he brought this to the attention of the map producer, they provided the Adobe Illustrator files used to create the map and encouragement that he should be able to update the road network himself. He does not have GIS skills or understand how different file formats like ".ai" interact with spatial data file formats like .shp.

The final map will be posterized over 6ft in width and hung in prominence on the Dean's office wall.
