@anaelizabethenriquez it is a case of faculty entering the data in Activity Insight strangely, some reason people enter the proceeding information for a Conference Proceeding in to the "Published In (Title of Larger Works) field instead of the correct field "Journal/Periodical Title (Use only for Journal/Periodical Articles)". It can vary between colleges. I am not sure if there will be a way for us to fix this, but maybe we can brainstorm.
Here is an example: in the college of IST, there are 278 Conference Proceeding records from 1-1-2023 to 12-31-2024. 207 of those publications have entered the "Proceedings of the ..." in the Secondary Title field and 71 entered the "Proceedings of the ..."in the Journal Name field. In the college of Liberal Arts, there are 22 Conference Proceeding records from 1-1-2023 to 12-31-2024, 10 of those publications have the "Proceedings of the ..." entered in the Secondary Title field and 12 have the "Proceedings of the ..." in the Journal Name field. Just to give you an idea.
Thanks for looking at this @nmg110. Sounds like this data entry issue could account for what I'm seeing. Definitely open to brainstorming here.
At first I thought this was a case of a user entering data strangely in Activity Insight, but now I've noticed it for two users in different colleges. The Activity Insight importer appears to be putting the name of the conference in the Subtitle field. Publication 464462 is an example of this. It appears to be a duplicate of 414184, but pairs like this aren't getting automatically grouped because of this importing issue.
Seems to be impacting a lot of records, so I'm tagging @ajkiessl and @nmg110
Update: This is a case of users entering data strangely. See below.
