When a work is withdrawn in ScholarSphere, the link to the files for that work (a URL with "/downloads/" in it), as well as the link to the landing page, remains in Unpaywall and OA Button. I believe Unpaywall is the root issue, with OA Button then picking up Unpaywall's data. This is especially unfortunate because the link to files leads to a "Resource not found or unavailable" error, so the user can't even see that the work was withdrawn (unless they look at the URL and edit it to get to the record page).
Ideally, if the work is withdrawn, we would do something in the OAI-PMH data to indicate it's no longer available, so that Unpaywall would stop including it.
@bdezray @avshoff I imagine this will take a decent amount of investigation and development to fix. It's not impacting very many records. Just wanted to write it up and make you aware.
