All metadata files and sidecars must strictly conform to the requirements of json-LD files, and more loosely conform to the key-naming conventions and typing of schema.org/Dataset. If possible, we would like to implement this in as modular a way as possible, because this may be functionality that we could provide for the bids team's original validator.
