I believe https://github.com/datalad/datalad-osf/issues/182 is another case where copy-pasting-a-password into the cmdline on Windows fails due to ... Windows? There were several cases in the past where copy-pasting a string into a password prompt on Windows appended a hidden character that would prevent successful authentication, or even cause a bad request, as is the case with OSF. I don't understand the copy-paste behavior fully (googling seems to suggest that the terminal and its configurations make a difference), but it might be useful to have a KBI that mentions this problem as a potential source of errors, and shows the workaround via pasting from the dropdown menu.
TODO (not necessarily to be performed in this order)
