DOC/BF: update a bunch more help text #573

This PR is almost entirely improvements to the contents and formatting of help text. Lots was simply improved, and quite a few wrongs were righted. :-)

removes the tab completion for the recently removed match options for set and unset (#557)

I will wait for the tests to pass again and then merge. Thanks for reviewing this!

I don't know if I will get to all of the commands before Monday, but I do hope to get a few more done today. We'll see. :-)
