Would be neat if there was a real-time charting tool that would take MQTT messages as input, and plot (nice looking) charts..

Node-RED does this, but the line charts do not currently handle charts covering more than a few thousand data points (at least not in a good way). Mozaik is looking promising... there might be others too. #

A better option would be to send data to a time series database such as Influxdb, then graf it in for example Grafana. Butler SOS does exactly this, thus closing this issue.
