I think it would be possible to add the OpenSearch plug-in support in future
versions, as Open PCMan and
Firefox do, to make the context menu customizable to the client users.
In the earlier versions of Welly (or its parent project "Nally"), the "Open in
0rz" and "Open in TinyURL"
features exist because of the special usage among BBS users in Taiwan (say,
given a short code, then the
user copy the code and paste it after 0rz.tw/ or tinyurl.com/ to get the real
URL; the actions could be
simplified with one click in context menu).
Adding all the major services into the context menu is almost impossible; but
if the application has
OpenSearch support, users could customize their own context menu. Alternately
if the "search plug-in
settings" is in the Preferences Pane, it might be easier to "install" a plug-in
(just give the context menu title,
the URL scheme, select the checkbox "use this plugin", and it should work).
I think this would be possible :)

Greetings,
Thanks for your reply, I'm glad to know that would be possible.
I'll expect for the implement.

to ducksteven:
do you have any example bbs post? i am wondering why people do not simply
write "http://tinyurl.com/xxxx"
and click the url.

hi, Wang:
When people are sharing photos or websites that should not be in public (like
torrents or big files), they
would simply share the hashed key of short URL service; other users get the
key, and simply type
tinyurl.com or 0rz.tw before the key, to get the real URL. This is called
"低調" among BBSes in BIG5 world.
Although there is a service that can "decode" the hashed key (http://3pig.cc/
), but the original Nally
developer make it possible with a click in the context menu.
I knew that this usage is not popular in GBK world, or you're using short URL
service other than tinyurl or
0rz, so how about making it a customizable "search engine" formed preference?
Thanks for your attention to this topic :)
p.s. an example post is in the attachment

These menus have been restored in trunk. Maybe in ver 2.3 you can see this
change:)
