Description of change
Recognize the two nothogenera: xApseudathyrium (Athyrium x Pseudathyrium) and xCornoathyrium (Athyrium x Cornopteris).
Reason for change
Given the recognition of Cornopteris and Pseudathyrium as distinct from Athyrium, the recognition of these two nothogenera is necessary.
There is one known species of xApseudathyrium, xA. reichsteinii, a diploid hybrid between A. filix-femina and P. distentifolium (Schneller & Rasbach 1983). Triploids also occur; these have been named as nothosubspecies (Rasbach et al. 1991).
There are three reported species in xCornoathyrium: xC. cornopteroides (A. kuratae x C. opaca), xC. glabrescens (A. kuratae x C. decurrenti-alata), and xC. petiolatum (A. yakusimensis x C. opaca).
