cause there's nothing I can find that makes it readily available

ptitSeb commented 11 months ago

Yes you are.

But read the COMPILE.md doc https://github.com/ptitSeb/box86/blob/master/docs/COMPILE.md , there are hints to not compile it and use ready-made packages.

WELL guess who's going to be depressed

Butterfinger191-gif commented 11 months ago

(I use termux)

Butterfinger191-gif commented 11 months ago

(Also why isn't there one specific to android)

ptitSeb commented 11 months ago

You should go the the termux discord and ask for help on the gaming thread. Also, there are many script to automate the installation of box+wine+dxvk out there already

Also also, building native for termux is tricky, I suggest you use pre-made stuffs

Butterfinger191-gif commented 11 months ago

As someone who has tried to run the compiling before, it is a nightmare

Butterfinger191-gif commented 11 months ago

(I mean compiling stuff on termux)

Because nobody pushed a pull request with that.

Sorry to hijack this bug report for my own questions. I see a lot of pre-made termux + proot + box86/64 + wine + dxvk/vkd3d releases. And you should be able to build it yourself as well. But does it also run on Samsung Dex from the desktop launcher? I know the exynos Samsung devices have crappy drivers, but the ones with a Snapdragon Soc can use the turnip drivers. Sounds like nice idea to just plug your phone into a usb-c dock, and use box64 to launch Steam using wine and play a game of cs:go.
