Crash on Windows 7 64-bit #10

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.Launch the game on Windows 7 64-bit (as a normal user or as Administrator)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The screen displays "Loading" briefly (less than one second) then the
application crashes (and Windows looks for a solution, without success). No
error logs were found in the application directories.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Installed FrikingSharkSetup-v1.01-Beta.exe
Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-bit
Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics
DirectX 11
Realtek High Definition Audio

Please provide any additional information below.
DirectX information (collected using dxdiag 64-bit):

Thanks for the issue report.

I have tested the game in windows 7 64 bits and have not found this issue yet.

Can you launch DebugView before starting the game and add its output as an
attachment?

DebugView is a tool from Microsoft, it requires no installation an can be
downloaded in the following link

Hi again,

It seems to be a known one, but i haven't fixed it yet and i forgot to add the
issue, sorry for that.

It is caused due to an incorrect interpretation on the shader compilation
result, no SO issue here :)

There is a workaround that have worked before, just in case you want to try it.

Just edit the file Resources\Scripts\GameGUI.cfg, look for the
IgnoreShaderSupport key and set it to 1.

This workaround will disable shaders, so the game will lose some visual quality
but it should work.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm fixing it in the next version for sure.
