Character viewer and manager #33

Now that characters can be created ( #15 ), a character viewer and manager can begin to be implemented.

I think this would also be some of the groundwork for adding a character inventory, character quest log, etc.

this got partially completed with PR #38. But it still needs fleshing out so we should keep this issue open
