Clarify funding status #143

Open KOLANICH opened 4 years ago

KOLANICH commented 4 years ago

@pts, I see in lot of issues you beg for "funding" on behalf of that you have no time to develop the project.

Could you clarify what you mean under "funding"? Do you mean a full-time job (if you already have a full-time job it is unlikely that even with funding you will manage to find the time for the repo). If you are a freelancer, you should state clearly exactly which amount you want for what feature. And probably you should go to crowdfunding websites.

If you don't have the time for the project, it may also make sense to transfer it to @jazzband org.

Does the third paragraph of the README not count as one? 😕

I meant something like Kickstarter.

These are valid questions about funding, and I don't have a full answer for it yet. As soon as I have more info, I'll post it to this issue.

Unfortunately the https://flattr.com/submit/auto?user_id=pts&url=https://github.com/pts/pdfsizeopt link is broken now, so it's not possible to send me money using that channel.

I won't transfer the pdfsizeopt repo, I'll keep owning it in the near future. The source code is GPL v2, so it's legally possible to reuse it in other projects even without asking me.

I'm currently open to work on pdfsizeopt full time (40 hours a week), if somebody is willing to pay me.

I also have an hourly rate for implementing specific features.
