When I register I don’t get the verification link #39

No email sent to me to allow me to access the privacy page or the survey.

Right now we are relying on a sketchy way of sending emails (there is a decent chance your email provider thinks it is spam or it wasnt sent at all because the server memory had a hiccup). In order for less sketchy emails, we need to have a real email account registered that can actually handle sending out the email that the server delegates the task to (I still need to research this more)

There isnt allocated time left in this phase of the work for it, so I am saving it for the end of this phase (if there is extra time), or for another phase of the work

Ah! Thanks and sorry for not looking in the spam folder earlier--never usually catches the wrong thing. On the page that the verification link sent me to the email field was pre-populated with my username and not my email so, perhaps eventually that could be changed to pre-populated with the email. screenshot 2014-07-29 07 45 48

Hi @mmmelissa while we're waiting on Jeff could you start working on this again? I tested the site out with some users and they couldn't find their verification email even in the trash. So if people can't even get on to the site, the rest of the site doesn't matter so this seems to be a pretty high priority. Could the subject line of the verification email read something like: Please confirm your account [where We Breathe]

And the text could read: Hi there [user name],

Your registration is almost done! One last thing to do: click on the link below to confirm your email address

Sounds totally logical to put this as a priority, however If I remember correctly, Jeff needs to participate anyway on this piece ( to configure some DNS stuff?) to get a more robust email system working (Mailgun?).

Jeff, I am CCing you in case you've been dropped from notifications on this. What do you think?

Ah, ok. Sounds good. What about working on the admin interface?

That one isnt a quickie either. Still needs design and functionality decisions/discussions.
