Someone just tried to sign in to your Google Account from an app that doesn't meet modern security standards #117

When I try to use Mailnag under Unity (so adding the account under the Mailnag Accounts tab, not via Online Accounts), I receive the following email from Gmail: "Someone just tried to sign in to your Google Account from an app that doesn't meet modern security standards. We strongly recommend that you use a secure app, like Gmail, to access your account. All apps made by Google meet these security standards. Using a less secure app, on the other hand, could leave your account vulnerable"

And of course, because of this, Mailnag doesn't work.

Hi! Please have a look here. Does the suggestion at the bottom help?

Thanks, I didn't see that bug report! I figured 2 other ways before this while writing the Mailnag 1.2 article on WebUpd8 and I got it working. But an OAuth2 system would solve it for good :)

I'll puth OAuth2 on my TODO list.

Many thanks for another very detailed article! I'm certain it will help Mailnag to become more popular :grinning:

@Ken Mijime: In the meantime you can use the workaround althaser suggested at the end of this issue: https://github.com/pulb/mailnag/issues/112
