Hi, I noticed that this repository hasn't had a lot of activity in recent times. I am willing to help out/take over maintainership if that helps you out.

I would specifically take the following actions:

• Resolve existing bugs and pull requests, now and in the future.
• Modernize the code to use modern JavaScript features, including modules, new Crypto APIs.
