(PPPL Pipeline) Describe: Community Workflow Pathways

Description

User tests revealed the PPPL pipline to PDC Describe is ideally modified to resemble the workflow pathways that are customized in DataSpace. For example, PPPL has reviewers that are assigned to specific communities (e.g., Advanced Projects, Computational Science, ect.) and each community has a designated individual who is responsible for that workflow.

Questions

• How do we designate these communities in Describe?
• How do we allow the assigned designee to manage their collection vs another reviewer who may only be assigned to help with a submission?
• How do we allow reviewers to focus on their collection, and not be bothered with incoming submissions from other PPPL collections, unless they are called in for a review task?

Within DataSpace, the submitters/depositors select which collection. I know that Wind was adamant about replacing it with categories or something similar. One option is to allow for multiple "collection" selection. For example, ask for a primary collection selection. Then ask for additional collection is appropriate. The former defines who reviews the dataset.

Because of some recent reorg, we will probably need:

• To add "Applied Materials and Sustainability Sciences"
• Rename "Plasma Science & Technology" to "Discovery Plasma Science"

It may be that we should do this in DataSpace and migrate contents if needed before we move to PDC. Thoughts?
