Provide collection usage stats #155

Curators are asking for these (for the first time). Ideally they could log in and look this up themselves.

Data desired: Pageview trend per collection.

Acceptance criteria: Figure out and document how to get this data from matomo.

Do we want to go further than google analytics for this?

jpstroop commented 7 years ago

I don't know. The use case is that curators were asking for usage stats about 'their collections' over past year. So I can imagine wanting filter by slug, and maybe by curator, and having at least 12 months of data at any time. Can we get this from GA? Also wondering if @kayiwa might have an opinion as he starts to work on logging.

Are people still using PUDL? We should look at PUDL stats and other stats people are using.

@hackmastera an idea for this. I will see if I can get some decent feedback and suggestions from the Communications and Exhibitions folks in EOG.

@elrayle mentioned to me that she just implemented an analytics page for Cornell (single-page for all exhibits as opposed to one page per exhibit). She sent this along as the best starting point https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/SPOTLIGHT/Analytics+Dashboard
