Embed Libguides Author IDs in Specialist Profiles #81

Embed libguide author ids into profiles.

This should be input into a "selector" profile.

Hi, I assigned this old ticket to @sdellis based on our discussion earlier today of libguides integration with various portions of the site.

@jdd10 is this another value we might want to collate? We have a field to store this data in the profile.

Is the thinking we might use this to pull in a list of guides by different librarians? You can get the list of IDs here: http://lgapi.libapps.com/1.1/accounts/?site_id=77&key=79eb11fd3c26374e9785bb06bc3f3961

Is pulling guides in by librarian useful? My thought was to display them on the staff profile page. Or is it really only useful for subjects?

I’m not sure. I think it could be useful, but in some cases the list of guides would be quite extensive (more than 50) and sometimes not germane (like template or container guides). Since that is the case, we might need to display only select guides, which would require asking people which ones they want displayed (to which we’d probably only get a partial response) or choosing them myself (or, perhaps more likely, some combination of the two). We can bring up at the next WSG meeting and ask what others think.

LG already provides a profile page like this: http://libguides.princeton.edu/prf.php?account_id=231. However, since it’s customizable by each user, layout and info included varies: http://libguides.princeton.edu/prf.php?account_id=15642.
