I am not entirely sure about removing equalizerrc but as far as i can tell it isn't used anywhere in the code.
The only equalizerrc that i can tell is being used is the equalizerrc in $HOME/.config/pulse which gets created if it doesn't exist.
Sorry for adding the xdg-base-dir commit to this PR it just happened that i noticed the crash while testing the move to meson.
