Missing notices in stream

Several of us have noticed that some posts don't ever arrive to our pumps, as evident by seeing things in the oFirehose, or from reshares.

Evan suggested at one point this could be due to some clock drift, however I'm making an issue here so we can keep track of any findings.

some more information:

• It is common for most posts to take 5-30 minutes to hit my pump after they are in the firehose.
• Steve, Sazius, and myself all are using Raspberry Pi's as pump.io servers-- this could have something to do with it as it is a common factor.

I still don't see many of your posts until they are shared. I wonder if this could be due to the CPU usage on my pi spiking frequently : could that cause notices to be missed?

I've noticed the same issue in the last few days.

• Case A: I see an activity in the meanwhile feed from one contact. He is posting a comment to another user I'm following too. When I search for the original post in my Timeline, it's missing.
  (Anyway, I can comment on this post using the "+" -open referenced post- feature in Dianara, but I can't see the post in my timeline)
• Case B: When I look at my Timeline, I see a "Reshared post". But, again, when I look for the original post (posted by somebody in my following list), I can't see it, I only see the reshared one from another contact.

In this examples, there were no raspi-pumps involved. My account is on pumprock.net, and the missed posts were on two identi.ca accounts.

I've been noticing this too for a couple of days. Very specifically, I don't seem to receive any post from people (or bots) @pump.jpope.org, but also, I sent a private message from my @microca.st account to my @identi.ca account about 8 hours ago, and it's still not been received.

After posting a comment to it from the microca.st account, I can see a "Pumpanagi posted a comment in reply to..." in my identi.ca Meanwhile feed, and open the post from there, but since apparently my account never received the post originally, I get the dreaded "Error 500: No original post" when trying to reply to it.

A few days ago, I sent another private message from the microca.st account to 5 different people on different servers. One of them was my own @identi.ca account, which received the message ok, but another one on @identi.ca did not receive it. So it doesn't look like this is a "certain server to some other specific server" problem.

Maybe there's something in the servers logs that could help diagnose.

As a concrete example, this post hit the firehose (as evidenced by it showing up on hubub). It's also available from Evan's profile page, but it never got delivered to my account

here's a concrete and repeatable example: I can never send or receive posts from sazius: post about the problem

and ping post from another account

there appear to be distributor errors on both ends when trying to deliver a note, however both pumps are up and operational and can ping each other.
