German NVDA crashes whenever the computer gets connected to a USB device #10

Hello folks, well, here's an issue that my boyfriend noticed but wanted me to report, so just incase you had the same question-the credits go to him ;) Anyway.... whenever the computer is connected to a USB device-be it a USB stick, an external hard drive or whatever-NVDA stops talking and crashes. Apparently, this hasn't been a problem before but it's been happening multiple times lately with the new NVDA version and new eloquence add-on. Since I want to use NVDA 2019.3 in college, I'd be very happy if this got fixed pretty quickly. Wishing you all the best and have a nice remainder of your week, yours, meow

Hello again, we tried the same thing with ESpeak and it does not happen here, so it's definitely add-on-related. Sometimes is also crashes when my boyfriend uses Mozilla Firefox. He's a windows 10 user if tht helps. Have a nice remainder of your day. Meow xx

I can also crash the addon with the following line of text.

begin crash code

️⃣

end crash code That shows up on Twitter sometimes, it's a number/hashtag sign but different somehow from when I type it out on my keyboard.

Github fails to show the number sign, I can type it out fine everywhere else though. All I can give here on the crash symbol, is when it's deleted eSpeak reads it as "symbol 2 0 E 3". Not sure what symbol 2 0 e 3 means but that's the symbol you want to avoid.

@KevGP That's pretty interesting. My boyfriend told me that it happens as well when you type different signs or read a particular message. Something seems to make it crash for no valid reason. Maybe I should add that, in my case, it's German NVDA Good to know we're not alone with that problem, though I think I'll wait with the update :) thanks meow x
