I still don't understand why p1 and p2 light output is reversed when testing with pro/pro2

Perhaps there is something obviously wrong here, or maybe the pro series was just backward the entire time?

There was a confusion with player 1 and player 2 from itg days.

An itg dedi and a pump is swapped p1 and p2.

Does this occur on real hardware as a result?

That was done on software level. they swapped the lights because the reasoning was that it's cool for people watching a single player playing and the lights lighting up on the other side (yes, that was their reasoning back then. got that info first hand).
