Is the Travis timeout caused by this change? I've rekicked it several times but no luck.

I didn't think it was, I thought it was timing out connecting to a server, but have also rekicked a few times without success. I'll look into it.

Looks like it's not PR specific, I created https://github.com/puppetlabs/pupperware/pull/273 which has the same issue. Asked @puppetlabs/pupperware for help in it.

I can't actually merge this still, looks like puppetserver-maintainers can be requested for review now but the approval doesn't count.
