public folder not browsable in IE7 and IE8 browser

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Share own folder or get public link to others public folder
2. Try to open it in Internet Explorer 7 or 8 in Windows XP or 7

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

File download dialog shows instead of public folder contents

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I built gss from source dated 14/01/2011 but same issue happens with older 
source dated 30/11/2011. Did not try other source version.

Please provide any additional information below.

Clients are Windows XP and Windows 7 running Internet Explorer 7 and 8.

The above mentioned behavior confirmed. Moreover, in Firefox in Ubuntu 10.04 an 
error exception has occurred.
