= character is ignored in header parameter value

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.create basic authentication (base64 encoded) where the result contains = 
character
2.add the result to the header: Authorization= Basic <result>
3.when the request is executed,the = character is being ignored 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected: also the = character should be included

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.3
