Guest Registration module - hangs upon validation of form values #642

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Setup a the  Guest Registration Module
2. Configure the form with fields that have one or more restrictions (i.e. 
unique value)
3. Initialize the form (Guest Registration)
4. Fill in a duplicate value on purpose
5. Submit the Form
6. An incorrect error message is returned "%1 is required" instead of 
"duplicate value message)
7. Now, when I use my scroll wheel on my mouse, my browser stops responding 
(not when using tab)
8. The JavaScripts consume all available resources and eventually the browser 
dies

PWM version is 1.7.1 Tested Browsers are Google Chrome Version 39.0.2171.71 
(64-bit) and Mozilla Firefox 33.1

Another screen screenshot upon using the scroll wheel on my mouse: notice the 
extra hidden div that gets added to the error div.
