Greetings from Colombia. Any chance the sniffer could be use for presence detection tracking smartwatch RSSI strength?

RSSI is very mediocre in older chips. In the Bluetooth 5.1 chips with direction measurement, designed specifically for the new standards, it is already better. https://www.bluetooth.com/blog/new-aoa-aod-bluetooth-capabilities/

Thanks for this suggestion! in terms of software methods for sniffing traffic of paired devices for their RSSI, would you have any pointers? Garmin Smartwatches do not publicly advertise any data once paired.

Garmin Smartwatches do not publicly advertise any data once paired.

After pairing / binding advertisements are transmitted. Advertisements are not send in connected mode. But even in connection mode, the transmission of advertisements is not prohibited. some devices have multiple connections.

Suggestion - Throw out Garmin :)
