What desktop-environment/window-manager are you using? It might be the case that when your graphic environment got updated it changed how it handles window decorations. Try looking up "hide window decorations <your DE/WM>". I use i3wm and don't have them. I'm not sure about Gnome or KDE, especially with the recent wayland developments. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it is not the change in Zathura that brought the title bar back.

Thanks for the tips. Further research revealed that it probably is Gnome, and that it is not possible to remove the title bar. So i3 or similar is looking increasingly appealing to me... anyhow, thanks for the fast response.
Unite in gnome extensions allows you to remove the top bar from all windows. I have the key binding super + q
to kill the selected window. That works for me and saved me the trouble of switching to a window manager (at least for a little while longer).

I always loved how Zathura shows up without a title bar, however, due to an update, I now can't seem to get rid of it. I know this has been a feature request for Mac users, but could not find much information for linux users. I searched through the man pages and website looking for clues to how I could remove it. Is this an option currently? If so, I'd love to know how to do it.
Thanks for an amazing piece of software. I use it everyday.
