Zooming in too much crowds the timeline with tickmarks #15

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open index.html
2. Move the slider to the right
3. Watch as the tickmarks meld together to form a black bar depriving the 
timeline of its simple beauty.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Tickmarks should thin out to show the appropriate scale, maybe days, months, 
years and so on.
