it looks like two things aren't rendering as expected here. i didn't check images on the march pr so i'll do that next but let's get these fixed first

ok this is merged @kierisi ! thank you for your work on it. let's keep an eye on CI for your next pr and decide whether this is a CI bug or a fluke situation where we tried to tease out a single pr into 2 prs! .
