We are now using hatch and hatch supports dynamic versioning i think using setuptools_Scm under the hood. It would be good to move to dynamic versioning as currently there is a version mismatch between releases (0.15) and what's on pypi (0.2) largely because i was testing things.
if we just move to a tagged system then i can setup ci to perform releases automagically.
