It's not ready to be pulled into the main repo yet, but I've created a very basic Pelican-based re-factor. It has no custom styling or CSS, no Jinja code, and no production settings yet. All I've really managed to do is build a very static site and get the internal links working, which has taken me a lot longer than it really should have. There's still some work to be done, but it's a start. It doesn't really look anything like the current one.
Would you mind taking a look and letting me know how you'd like me to proceed with this? Mainly I'm interested to know if you want this version to look and feel the same way as the current one, or would you be happy to let Pelican's default behaviour do some of the work. This current version should be usable enough once I can correctly configure the production settings, it just doesn't look very pretty.
This is great. I will take a look tonight and get back to you . Sorry for late reply but had a wedding at the weekend so only getting caught back up on stuff now.
@xarxziux I can't find your code - can you push it up in a branch or give me access in another repo to be able to see? Thanks.

I've added a very brief quick start guide to the README that should get you up and running.
After some... adventures... I finally have a working GitHub Pages demo.
There's still a lot I need to figure out here, but it's a start.
This is fantastic.... I really like this.

The current site is written using Jekyll. We should probably use a python site generator. I think pelican is the best choice but am not picky. Here is a list of static site generators in python.
This would be a great issue to get started for a first time contributor. If you need anyhelp #pybelfsat on the NI Slack channel is a great place to start.
