Screen blinks when control bar hiding in fullscreenmode

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Open video in fullscreen mode (Nvidia driver, try both XV or X11 video out)
2. Wait until control bar on bottom on the screen becames hiding
3. See whole screen blinks until the bar became hidden

I use GNOME MPlayer v0.9.8, Arch Linux (current)

Could the gnome-mplayer have option for immidiatelly hide control bar, so
we will have one screen blink instead of a lot.
