Perfectly normal, when mplayer is embedded it appears as two tasks. Also, it is
launched at least once to get the metadata from the file.

Sometimes when changing songs and/or togling loop/shuffle too much, g.m. lefts
some
mplayer instance on background, so i can hear two different songs at time.

(maybe cool feature, but there's no way to disable it when it's not wanted :-)

HarvieCZ,

Might want to see if you can get a newer version of mplayer, some older versions
exhibit this behavior. You can also try upgrading to 0.9.9.2

kdekorte: i already have 0.9.9.2 for few weeks...

I'm still getting this behaviour on v1.0.0.

Sometimes (more often that not when I already have gnome-mplayer open),
launching a video from the nautilus desktop results in an apparent audio echo.
Audio is being played out of sync by two spawned mplayer processes. Quitting
gnome-mplayer results in one audio track continuing to play in the background.
Stopping it requires issuing a 'killall mplayer' in a terminal.

Can you disable single instance mode?

Original comment by kdeko...@gmail.com on 1 Dec 2010 at 1:40

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Yep, that seems to work fine for now, though confusingly retaining
single-instance behaviour.

I've been testing the single instance mode option for a few minutes here. But
with and without the replace option set. So far I can't seem to duplicate the
crash you are seeing. Can you type up a sequence that causes the error every
time for you? And include what options you have, and if the files are audio or
video? Thanks..

I believe this could be fixed in current SVN, I found a case where a variable
was being reset at the wrong time. That fix may help here.
